Brookes Bell taking on the Wilderness Challenge
Teams already in training for challenge event in Cairngorms in September
Teams from companies across the marine and energy industries are signing up fast to take part in the new Wilderness Challenge on behalf of global charity, the Sailors’ Society. The event, sponsored by Lloyd’s Register, will see teams of four take on a 50km bike ride through the stunning Rothiemurchus Forest, a 3km canoe across thebeautiful LochMorlich and a 10km run at the Cairngorms National Park – and all in a single day.
Marine consultancy Brookes Bell has entered three teams into the event and everyone is already hard at work in training and preparation.
Angela Shaw from Brookes Bell and co-ordinator of the three teams entering the event said:
“We are all looking forward to the event, and are relishing the prospect of this challenge! Most of us have started our training, mainly the running and cycling parts. We’ve taken our bikes to some off-road trails on a weekend and some members of our team play five-a-side football together. Hopefully we’ll fit in more training sessions before September as a big group! Our next step is to start our canoe training - finding a canoe and a lake is a bit more difficult!”
