Dr Andrzej Jasionowski is Partner at Brookes Bell and Director of Stability and Ship Dynamics at Safety at Sea. He holds a PhD in damaged vessel hydrodynamics and simulation from the University of Strathclyde (2002).
He has specialised since 1995 in the application of advanced numeric techniques for stability, hydrodynamics, ship flooding simulations, probabilistic assessment of time to sink and capsize, holistic risk quantification, and forensics of collision, grounding, safe port, foundering.
He has advised on the total losses of several ships including bulk carriers, MV DERBYSHIRE, ropax, MV ESTONIA, MV NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, roro HYUNDAI No.105, rock carrier MV ROCKNESS, offshore semisubmersible, DEEP WATER HORIZON, among others. He has advised government organisations on regulatory developments for risk mitigation. He has developed advanced decision support systems for effective operation and flooding crises management, and supported the design development of several significant new building projects. He is an author of many articles published in journals, conferences and books.
