Brookes Bell welcomes Managing Marine Engineer Andrew Kingshott to its UK team

With more than 14 years’ experience in the maritime industry, Andrew Kingshott joins our London office as a Managing Marine Engineer.

Andrew began his career with Maersk, progressing from Engine Cadet to Engineer Officer of the Watch with Maersk Supply Service. His sea time centred on DP2 vessels and included watchkeeping and maintenance on diesel-electric and azimuth propulsion systems, whilst also gaining 2-stroke marine engine experience. He then moved ashore to Charles Taylor and Richards Hogg Lindley, where he served as Marine Engineer and later Senior Marine Engineer and Consulting Surveyor, supporting the marine adjusting division with a focus on ship repair, and hull and machinery claims.

Andrew brings a strong technical skill set and a wide range of professional qualifications, including the ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management, a Certificate in Marine Warranty Surveying, and the IMO’s Human Element, Leadership & Management at the Management level.

Andrew studied at Warsash Maritime Academy in Southampton, completing a foundation degree in Marine Engineering and later, the SQA/MCA Motor and General Management EKs to Chief Engineer. He also holds a BEng(Hons) in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent.

Andrew is a member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), and a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology with registered intent for Incorporated Engineer registration.

Speaking shortly after joining the team, Andrew remarked, “I am excited to join the Brookes Bell team in the UK. I especially want to thank the team for such a warm welcome.”
