January Newsletter

Welcome to this our first newsletter for 2021. Despite the ongoing COVID-19 challenges, we have already got off to an impressive start, firstly with the addition of US based marine consultancy 3D Marine. The company is a perfect complement to the range of services we offer and increases Brookes Bell’s global reach with new offices in Houston and Miami. Our multi-disciplinary teams look forward to working together, offering our clients an even greater service and enhanced skill set.

Secondly, hopefully you will all be aware that earlier this week we officially opened our new industry leading laboratory. Equipped to the highest level, we now have the resources and capacity to expand and develop many of our growing business areas. I would like to thank all the many people involved in helping this project come to fruition, this really is a game-changer and an exciting future lies ahead.

On the same note, I would like to congratulate six members of our team who have been promoted in recognition for their hard work, professional and academic excellence and contribution to our business. It is thanks to all our staff that Brookes Bell maintains its reputation as the leading multi-disciplinary technical and scientific consultancy serving the marine and energy sectors.

The global pandemic is still with us and we continue to face many challenges, and with this in mind in this newsletter Dr Martin Jonas talks about recent work on wide range of commodities that have experienced delays, leading to quality issues.

Last but not least, we meet Ken Kirby, Director of metallurgy and non-destructive testing, who has led the team behind the successful completion of the new laboratory and hear about his role and the challenges behind this significant achievement.

Wishing you a safe and healthy month,
Anthony York, Chief Operating Officer
