Joshua McCready is a marine Engineer with a Chief Engineers (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency (Motor).

Josh joined Brookes Bell in 2023 after being at sea for over 10 years. The majority of that time sailing on Cruise ships and the latter part sailing as 2nd Engineer & Chief Engineer on Irish Sea RO-PAX.


Background

Josh has hands on experience with medium speed engines, as well as related auxiliaries & systems, with considerable time working on various Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems, High Voltage machinery & equipment, RORO hydraulic systems, Gearboxes, Deck Equipment, Hotel services, Electric propulsion systems (up to 20MW/11,000V) & CPP.

During his time at sea, Josh has been involved in numerous dry dockings. He took part in refits & commissioning of new installations, such as Emergency Diesel Generators & Bilge foaming equipment, as well as preparing cruise vessels for extended periods of warm layup.

FD Marine Engineering & Management.
