Volodymyr Petrov has more than 20 years’ experience in marine engineering, working across various vessels including tankers, FPSOs, SP Jack-ups, Containers and Car Carriers.  

His background includes a wide range of engine types, together with extensive involvement in vessel maintenance, repair, and the management of multiple drydock projects across different countries and continents. His work includes major machinery replacement such as diesel generators, boilers, and inert gas systems, as well as the installation of scrubbers and ballast water treatment systems, including additional generator installations.


Background

Throughout his career, Volodymyr has successfully overseen technical operations and ensured compliance with the highest safety and environmental standards. He has managed vessels undergoing complex inspections, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) trials, DP trials, Port State Control (PSC), Vetting, CDI, SIRE, Flag State and both internal and external audits.

He also has experience in vessel performance monitoring and optimisation, particularly in fuel consumption systems and is proficient with a range of Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) and gap analyses, including BASSNet, ShipNet, Titan, Danaos, One Ocean, and others.

Class 1 Motor Certificate of Competency (Unlimited), LNG, Oil/Chemical/Product tankers

DPVM (DP Vessel maintainer) acc. to NI regulation from 2024

Internal auditor – ISM, ISPS, MLC.

Basic Offshore Safety Induction Emergency Training Course (BOSIET)

Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
