• The Port of Liverpool is the UK’s leading import gateway for grain and animal feed. It’s also the UK’s largest export gateway for recycled metals.
• Famous ships built on the Mersey include the HMS Ark Royal (1937) and the HMS Prince of Wales (1941).
• Liverpool played a key role in the Battle of the Atlantic, acting as Britain’s main transatlantic convoy port.
