Brookes Bell Announces Promotions Across Global Teams

Brookes Bell is proud to announce new promotions across its global operations, recognising the expertise and contribution of colleagues in Liverpool and Shanghai.

The following appointments have taken effect in May 2026.

Lee Lewtas has been promoted to Director of Engineering, Asia-Pacific. Working from Brookes Bell's Shanghai office, Lee draws on deep regional knowledge and broad expertise across vessel types to lead the firm's engineering capability throughout Asia.

Karley Smith has been promoted to Senior Master Mariner, based in the Liverpool office. With a strong background in casualty investigations and marine advisory, Karley works across commercial shipping, offshore operations, and the superyacht sector.

Dhaneshwar Nath has been promoted to Senior Marine Engineer in Shanghai. Dhaneshwar brings technical depth across a wide range of investigation work, supporting owners, underwriters, P&I clubs, and maritime lawyers with claims and disputes.

Captain Chris Williams has been promoted to Managing Master Mariner, also based in Liverpool. With years of hands-on experience in the container sector, Chris leads complex assignments, providing practical operational insight to clients.
